Don’t ripen.

The RYPEN Technology can be seamlessly integrated into packaging materials already in use today, enabling integrated, hassle-free ethylene control.
  • RYPEN Leaf

The RYPEN Technology captures ethylene molecules (C2H4) present in the air around the produce. This moderates the ethylene’s effect, slowing the ripening process and extending condition for longer, resulting in reduced waste.

Selective ethylene control
The RYPEN Technology selectively captures ethylene, moderating its effect on fresh produce and slowing the ripening process.
Moderating. Not blocking.
RYPEN is not an ethylene inhibitor. The natural biological pathways in the produce are left unchanged, allowing aroma, taste and texture to develop.
Nothing coating the produce
Unlike coatings – which typically manage dehydration and respiration, but this doesn’t directly address ethylene – RYPEN is not applied to the surface of the produce.
Better flavours
RYPEN allows the return of heirloom, or particularly ethylene-sensitive, varieties to return, delivering a better eating experience for consumers.
Mitigating risk
Incumbent oxidising chemicals like potassium permanganate may render fresh produce unfit for human consumption if the chemical leaks or otherwise contacts the fruit. RYPEN does not rely on chemical oxidising reactions. It is a clean adsorbent solution which locks away ethylene.
Flexible solution
RYPEN Technology is available in a variety of formats and derivatives enabling us to recommend the perfect solution for your requirements.

The strength and capacity of RYPEN can be adjusted to suit cultivar specific requirements – addressing ethylene emittance and sensitivity levels.
Intelligent preservation
RYPEN is truly unique, selectively capturing ethylene
for long lasting, natural protection of fresh produce.
Substrate adaptable
RYPEN can be extruded into polymers
or coated onto paper material.
Seamlessly integrated
RYPEN’s substrate adaptability enables integration with existing packaging materials and processes, avoiding costly capital investment.
